इसी प्रश्न का एक पहलु यह है-विश्वभर के विश्वविद्यालय जहाँ बड़े-बड़े इतिहासकार अधिकार जमाकर बैठे हैं, सहस्रों इतिहासकार वहाँ बैठे लाखों लोगों को इतिहास पढ़ाते हैं, क्या वे भारत के शत्रु हैं ? अथवा क्या वे बुद्धि के कोहलू हैं? अंग्रेजी भाषा में एक पद है जिसका अर्थ है, या तो धूर्त हैं अथवा मूर्ख हैं? मूर्ख इस दृष्टि से हैं कि प्रायः पढ़े-लिखे लोग एक कल्पना कर लेते हैं और अपनी कल्पना ठीक है, फिर उसके प्रमाण ढूँढ़ते फिरते हैं। जो भी प्रमाण ( ?) उन्हें मिलते हैं उनको जबरदस्ती अपनी कल्पना में सही उतारने की चेष्टा करते हैं। जैसे गोलाकार छिद्र में चौकोर टुकड़ा फिट करने का प्रयास किया जाता है। विद्वानों की कल्पना में यह बात आई कि मध्य एशिया से सभ्यता सारे विश्व में फैली। भारत में भी तथा योरुप में भी। अब लाख युक्ति उनको दें कि यह सभ्यता मूल में भारत से मध्य एशिया को गई और वहाँ से विश्व में फैली परन्तु ये बुद्धि के कोल्हू जो गोल सुराख बनाकर बैठे हैं, इस बात को मानने को तैयार नहीं कि उनके मस्तिष्क में जो गोल सुराख बना है वह उनकी भूल है। एक विचित्र बात यह है कि वर्तमान सभ्यता में पले तथाकथित विद्वान...
